PRESS RELEASE LOCAL PHOTOGRAPHER EARNS PLACE IN THE MOST TALKED ABOUT BOOK THIS XMAS Photography by _________ has won a coveted place in Dawn of the 21st Century: The Millennium Photo Project, the book that is causing among the public. Over 5000 photographers participated from faraway lands including China, New Zealand, Indonesia, Australia, Europe, South America, and Africa. Every continent was represented in this monumental photography project which had its origins on the internet (see www.smashing.com for detailed information and sample spreads from the book). From the thousands of submissions, 500 were selected for the hardbound, color coffee table book, and work by ____________ was among those selected. The Millennium Photo Project was the brainchild of Alx Klive, a Canadian. The idea was to document through pictures how average people from an entire world of cultures spent this very special day. The Toronto Star has called the book "a remarkably intimate snapshot of the human condition". Daybreak USA considers it "an incredibly beautiful coffee table book". Photographers registered on the internet in the spring of 1999. Photographers were asked to take their photos between noon on New Year's Eve and noon on New Year's Day. "Visually recording the transition was a once-in-a-lifetime event," commented Klive. "In years to come, this book will surely be considered an important keepsake and quite collectable, being the only hardcover photography book documenting the Millennium Celebration from around all corners of the world".
